Okay, I have to admit, I am binge reading Karina Halle books! I finished "Heatwave" last week which was amazing and last night I finished "Before I Ever Met You" last night. I really loved reading Will's POV in this book. Will is a pretty amazing guy. Reminds me of my wonderful husband, the man that just gets me♥️ I could identify with Jackie. I felt the same way about myself, my younger self. I just remind myself that I was a "late bloomer". Will and Jackie were so great together, against all obstacles and Jackie's belief that she wasn't good enough, they made it. They were all in.Product details

I absolutely loved this book! The male character is so sexy and sweet and respectful. You can not help but to fall for him! He is such a well written character and DREAMBOAT!! I want to know where I can get my very own Will. This is a love story about two people the have a connection despite their age. Jackie may be years younger but she in not immature. She has been hurt in the past and tries denying herself how she feels but Will is determined to get his Dream Girl! This book made me laugh, it made me smile, it made me cry, and most of all it made me happy! I highly recommend it!
Having survived a devastating break-up with their first significant partners, both Will 41, and Jackie aged 25, are still recovering when they meet as employer and employee. And the attraction is immediate for both of them. But it’s even more complicated than that Jackie’s dad is the president of the company. Will, is his business partner. These men are great friends although Will is significantly younger.
Well this is the quintessential office romance. Usually I’m just not keen on sexual relations taking place IN the office environment or anywhere work colleagues can catch you out. So as this couple grew closer together, I spent a lot of time feeling utter dread they would be CAUGHT followed by utter humiliation and disaster. Consequently, I spent a lot of time feeling tense, when I should have been enjoying their private intimate moments. Weirdly, that tension I felt was part of the pleasure of this book.
I should have known there would be no cliché from this author. This book was so much better than I expected. These characters were not caricatures, or repeats of anything I had read before. They were loving, mature, and no stereotype.
Before I started the book, I doubted I could like a 41 year old man in pursuit of a 25 year old female assistant. And when these two first get together, it’s more lust than attraction. But the author wove love into the romance beautifully and somehow pulled it all together to convince me Will and Jackie were meant to be together. The age difference was irrelevant.
The force of Will’s personality won me over the most in this book. I loved how he never gave up on Jackie. Never said anything he didn’t mean. The stand-out scene for me is when Will gives Jackie the most heart-felt speech I have heard in a long time in an attempt to save their rocky relationship. It was a thing of beauty.
Together, Will and Jackie were superb and did a great job of healing each other from the wounds of their respective pasts. I really enjoyed their story.
I've read most of Karina Halle's books and she's a very versatile author. Before I Ever Met You is hands down my favorite. It's such a great story about second chances and hope. It has humor, some serious issues, and some swoon worthy moments. Will is such a sweetheart and Jackie is stubborn but lovable all the same. She's looking to get back on her feet and be the best mom she can be. Will is trying to start a new life in an old city. I just loved their banter and instant chemistry. I would definitely recommend this book!!
Before I Ever Met You is a standalone, forbidden romance written by Karina Halle. According to Ms. Halle, outward inspirations for the characters can be found in Jon Hamm and Emelia Clarke, and given their age difference, their boss/secretary roles, and the fact that he is best friends with her father!... you can see why this falls in a secret, slightly unallowed type of category. But was it sexy? Heck, yeah! Not only sexy though, but emotional, real, and fairly complex.
My favorite element about this novel was the old-fashioned theme it held. Both characters have heavy pasts which created a protective and patient tone to their relationship. In a world of instant gratification, he is a gentleman who can wait out the hesitation and uncertainty. Their romance was lovely and with the ample amount of humor thrown in, Before I Ever Met You was a thoroughly enjoyable read. Check it out!

Karina Halle has done it again. Will and Jackie are in my heart to stay. Karina's characters are so 3 dimensional that it ruins other books for me. No one can write characters like she can. You care for them, you root for them, and you miss them when the book is over. This is a standalone romance that leaves you fulfilled and happy when it's over. I hesitate to cal Will a book boyfriend because I just don't think it does him justice. But he is one of my favorite men in a romance book ever.
Oh wow Karina sure can write a love story you get wrapped up in and cannot stop reading. Jackie is 25 back home with her parents with her son Ty. Her dad has gotten her a job in his company. She has had a rough time of it and she just wants to get back on her feet and be a good mom. Enter the dashing Will he is older 41 divorced and her dad's best friend and her boss. He is such a gentleman, bossy and hot guy in the office everyone watches him. Fantastic story of second chances we all deserve in life. Amazing! I totally pictured "Don Draper" as I was reading.
