This is a beautifully touching book and definitely worth the read!
I highly recommend this book. Jennifer Ortiz, tells a very compelling and heartfelt true story, about the struggles involved with having a child with special needs. However, the book goes beyond that, and shows how a smiling little boy, who never spoke a word, could touch the hearts and souls of so many people. This book is definitely worth your time to read. I bought this book through a craft fair, from the Author.
Author Ortiz and her husband first had to decide whether to accept the results from a MRI and follow the doctor’s recommendation to terminate the pregnancy. Although they recognized their child would require exhausting care, they were not prepared when son Jude, has an extremely rare massive bilateral stoke. Out of suffering came love and caring. It was during the many days in the hospital his sister, Emily thought about bringing toy and activities for children and their siblings in pediatric hospitals. The family used their personal experiences to create a non-profit corporation called Emily’s Smile Boxes. The story shows positive uplifting outcomes are possible in any heart rendering situations.
